Retainage rules and the release application

Flat retainage, WisDOT-style retainage on the first half, or none — and how to bill the retainage back.

Steps

1. Choose the rule: none, flat percent of the total, or WI DOT (held on the first 50% of the contract only).
2. Set the percent. The application shows retainage held and amount due net of it.
3. To bill retainage back at the end, generate an application with Retainage release checked. It carries 0% retainage and releases what was held.

What it affects

• Amount due on the application. Earned and the project header are unaffected.
