Change a unit price after the project is set up
Bill at a different price than the bid, and what that does to applications already sent.
WhereProject → Scope → item → Override billing price
Steps
- Enter the billed price per unit and, if you want, the reason. The bid price stays visible on the item for reference.
- Earned-to-date, the contract total and the next application use the new price from here on.
- To go back, open the same dialog and choose Revert to Bid.
What it affects
- Earned and contract on the header, immediately, for the whole quantity placed to date — not just future quantities.
- Applications already generated keep the price they were built with. The next application bills to-date at the new price and deducts previous payments, so the catch-up (or give-back) shows up as the difference.
- Sub rates are untouched; they are set on the sub's assignment.
Good to know
- Use a change order instead when the owner has agreed to a new price for new quantity only; the override is for correcting the price on the item itself.
