Track one item across several streets or phases

Split a bid item into areas so you can see where the quantity went, while the item itself still rolls up for billing.

Steps

1. On Scope, add an area — a street, a phase, a lot, whatever you measure by.
2. Pick the items that belong to it. Each becomes a child line under the original item.
3. Log quantities against the area lines. The parent item's placed quantity is the sum of its areas.

What it affects

• Reporting only. The owner still sees one bid item with one quantity; areas are internal.
• The Scope view can be filtered to a single area from the View menu.

Good to know

• Areas can be included on a share link ("Areas") when a crew needs to see the breakdown; they are off by default because they are internal sub-tracking.
